The main thread of the whole interior is a soft terracotta colour, paired with dark parquet laid in a classic French herringbone pattern.

Living room, dining area and kitchen

A large terracotta corner sofa takes centre stage in the bright living room. The dining area is defined by a round black glass table, soft upholstered chairs and a contemporary spider-web pendant. The round table makes conversation easy and is equally comfortable for family dinners and for guests.

A smooth arch separates the kitchen from the main space, an architectural detail that softens the whole apartment. The kitchen fronts are matt graphite with a white upper tier, so the kitchen reads as part of the living room rather than a separate utility zone.

Private zone: bedroom, study and nursery

A bedroom with an artistic accent

The main bedroom features a large wall mural with a delicate floral motif. The bed with a soft terracotta headboard is complemented by black bedside tables. Contemporary art — large paintings and expressive portraits — gives the interior its personality.

Home office

The workspace sits against an accent wall with an architectural concrete texture and is fitted with wall-mounted storage. The grey concrete acts as a neutral backdrop that helps you focus.

Nursery

A light nursery with a white cot and finely patterned wallpaper creates a calm atmosphere. Here, terracotta gives way to soft pink tones, and the white furniture leaves room for change as the child grows.

Colour palette and materials

Terracotta appears in several shades in this apartment interior design: from powder pink on the chair upholstery to rich brick tones on the sofa and the headboard. To keep the warm palette from becoming too sweet, we balanced it with graphite walls, black glass and dark parquet. White ceilings and long, light floor-to-ceiling curtains keep the rooms airy and bright.

Lighting and decor

Lighting is part of the decor here. A delicate spider-web pendant hangs above the dining table, glass pendants light the bedroom, and niches and arches have concealed lighting. In the hallway, a sculpture stands in a lit arched niche — the first thing you see when you enter. We chose the large paintings and portraits to continue the colour story of each room.

Arches and soft lines

Arches appear in several places: between the living room and the kitchen and in the hallway niche. Soft lines, the round dining area and rounded furniture make the space cosier than classic right-angled minimalism and visually connect the rooms.

Designing apartments abroad

Working on homes in the European Union means following local regulations and environmental standards, so we select certified materials and prepare detailed drawings that European contractors can work with easily (for eco-design trends, see ArchDaily).

For clients abroad, we hold discussions and approvals online and deliver working drawings and furniture and material specifications in a format contractors can use straight away. This way, apartment interior design in Belgium, Poland or any other country goes through the same stages as a project in Lviv: brief, layout, visualizations, technical drawings and procurement.

What to consider when planning an apartment design abroad

Local regulations and building rules: what can and cannot be changed in the layout.

Availability of materials and furniture in the country, so you don’t wait months for deliveries.

A drawing and specification format that local contractors are used to.

The language of communication with builders and who coordinates the work on site.

A budget with a reserve for logistics and possible material substitutions.

When these questions are settled at the start, the renovation runs more smoothly and the result matches the visualizations.

SPACE DESIGN: interiors in Ukraine and Europe

This apartment in Belgium combines European housing standards with the warm, personal character we look for in every private interior.

It is one of our projects abroad.
