Task

Redesign the historic space with high ceilings for a two-level coffee shop, preserve the authentic elements and use the colors provided by the brand book of the future chain.

Unfortunately, due to various circumstances, this project remained at the concept stage. Despite this, it continues to convey our values and team spirit, so we decided to share the story of its creation with you.

Most likely, you have already paid attention to the title. Hearing the word prodigy, an association immediately arises with the popular band (the concept was being developed even before the tragic events related to the soloist), to which we made several references in the interior itself. However, the name has many other meanings: prodigy, miracle, exceptionally gifted person. The design had to correspond to this interpretation of the naming.

We approached the design of this space as rationally as possible. In order to increase the area and the number of seats, our team developed a re-planning, thanks to which the room became partially two-level.

Since the building is located in the central part of the city, we traditionally tried to preserve details that had historical value. Renderings show wooden beams on the ceiling, metal structures on the slopes and original brickwork on the walls. Other colors used in the interior design were a continuation of the general concept of the brand. Based on the brand book, we focused on the blue color with the addition of white and black elements.

Metal perfectly fit into the concept of the establishment. It was he who became one of the dominant elements in interior decoration, doors, walls, ceilings and handrails of the second level are made of him.

Since the renovation budget was limited, the decoration of the cafe had to be creative, so neon signs with quotes from The Prodigy’s song lines appeared on the walls and ceiling.
