Apartment design project: a well-planned space for everyday life
An apartment design project is the stage where a comfortable, functional home takes shape. For this apartment, the SPACE DESIGN team carried out a complete re-planning that met the owners’ needs and reflects current approaches to apartment interior design.

The main goal of the re-planning was a more functional layout. We divided the apartment into several key zones: a kitchen-living room, a spacious bedroom, a walk-in wardrobe with a laundry area and an enlarged bathroom. This zoning makes use of every square metre and meets today’s standards of comfort and aesthetics.
Functional solutions in every room
Each room received furniture designed for how it is used. The bedroom has a large wardrobe, a comfortable workplace and a dressing table. The kitchen has a multifunctional island that works both as a worktop for cooking and as a dining table. The utility area has a built-in cabinet for everyday items, which keeps the home tidy and easy to clean.
A monochrome apartment design with natural materials
Alongside function, we paid close attention to the look of the interior. A monochrome palette with natural wood textures creates a calm, cosy atmosphere in every room. Mirrored surfaces visually enlarge the space and bring in more light. The result is an interior that looks modern and stays practical.
Kitchen-living room: a light island and a graphite wall
The kitchen-living room is the largest space in the apartment. White kitchen fronts and an island with bar stools keep it light, while a graphite wall with the TV and built-in cabinets adds contrast. The dining table on black metal legs sits between the kitchen and the sofa area, so cooking, dining and relaxing happen in one space without getting in each other’s way. Slim linear pendants above the table and the island zone the room with light. Long, light floor-to-ceiling curtains soften the daylight and make the ceiling feel higher.
Bedroom and a room with a workspace
In the bedroom, the wall behind the bed is lined with soft vertical panels running the full height — the room’s main decorative feature. A white dressing table stands by the window, and a dark wardrobe with open shelves faces the bed, keeping everyday things within reach. The second room combines a workspace by the window, a sofa and a dark wardrobe with a decorative pattern on its fronts; teal accents give it a fresh feel.
Hallway and bathroom
The hallway is kept in dark tones: graphite doors, a concrete-textured wall and a large mirror that brings in more light. The bathroom combines black marble, a glass shower screen and wall-hung furniture that makes cleaning easier. Pink towels and live plants are small details that warm up the monochrome interior.
How we work on a project
- Introduction: we discuss the task, budget and timeline and visit the premises or plot.
- Contract and brief: we define the function of each zone and your style preferences.
- Design development: layout, concept and 3D visualizations of every space.
- Technical drawings: a complete documentation package for the builders.
- Specification and procurement: selection of materials, furniture, lighting and appliances.
- Implementation: author’s supervision so the result matches the visualizations.
This sequence makes the renovation predictable: decisions are made at the design stage rather than on the building site, so there are far fewer reworks and unplanned costs.
Frequently asked questions
How much does an interior design project cost?
A full residential design project starts at $45 per m² in Ukraine and at 200 PLN net per m² in Poland. It includes layouts, 3D visualizations of every room, technical drawings and specifications.
Do I need author’s supervision?
We recommend it for any renovation: the designer visits the site regularly, checks the work against the drawings and resolves issues with contractors. Supervision costs $200 per month in Lviv and 1,500 PLN net per month in Warsaw, with a weekly site visit.
Can we work together from another city or country?
Yes. We have offices in Lviv and Warsaw and work with clients from other cities and countries online: meetings, approvals and documentation are all handled remotely.
What do you need to get started?
A floor plan or measurements, a few photos and your wishes on style and budget. At the first meeting, we put together a brief and propose the stages of work.
Who this layout suits
This layout works well for a couple or a small family who want an open space for everyday life and a separate, quiet bedroom. The wardrobe with a laundry area and the enlarged bathroom take care of storage and household tasks, so the living areas stay free of clutter.
